What do you do when you move from a big city to a small town? What am I to expect? How Will I survive not knowing anyone? These are some of the questions that have been flowing through my mind while driving. It took us a mere day and half to travel from Bremerton, WA to Saint Johns, AZ. I did not come to the shocking realization that my world was about to be turned upside down until I crossed over the state line from Washington- and then it hit me. I had to reassure my uneasy feelings and try to think about the best of this situation. If you would have told me three years ago that I would have had 2 kids, have a husband in the Military and be on my way to a small town of 4,000 people to live there, I would have told you that you were crazy! I always said that I would never marry a Navy guy, and I never wanted to live somewhere so small. Never say never, because when you do it will come back to hit ya. This is the beginning of a new chapter in my life. I don’t know what to expect, but I do know that I am going to keep trusting God to make this all work.
There is a reason why the words CITY and TOWN mean two different things. I believe that the word "City" means an overabundance of people and the word "town" means a little place that happen to have made a spot on the map. Saint Johns will be one of the places I can definitly say I have been through. It may be a turning point in my life, or this could be an awesome adventure. I guess we will have to see.
Today we went into town to collect some applications for my husband, Hunter, and to drop off the trailer that we pulled our car with. I had been here once before, and I knew to expect a small amount of stores and businesses. When we drove through town on the main road, I could count on two hands the amount of stores. The movie theater here only plays one movie at a time! What do these people do for fun?
One of the first memories that I will have of Saint Johns is that it is very windy here! I said "what is up with this wind?" and my husband replied "Oh yeah, welcome to Saint Johns!" Nobody warned me that my hair would constantly be flying all over the place! Now I will never get to have a great hair do unless I spray it with 2 cans of hairspray to make it stay in place! Living in the Puget Sound next to the water is always a bit breezy, but that’s only when you are right next to the water. Here it is windy 24/7.
As the day went on, we unpacked our things and got settled in. Caden, our son, seems to be enjoying the big back yard his grandparents have. I wish I was small again…. Oh to not have a worry in the world! Tomorrow will be the big day for "irragation" so hopefully we will have some great stories!

i remember a few years ago when you said all those things and what you wanted to do with your life! it all seems like just yesterday that we met at westside baptist church!!
